As we’ve all noted during the ‘pandemic’, it’s no longer a mystery how a significant proportion of one’s population can end up supporting the most tyrannical and inhumane of measures. The outpouring of hatred and contempt for the “unvaccinated” that we witnessed was driven entirely by official propaganda. And people fell for it. Some did, anyway.
So I don’t want to cast undue aspersions on the German people.
But what do you do when the measures you introduce to ‘prevent’ something like National Socialism from ever happening again start to look an awful lot like the things you’re trying to prevent?
Based on the recent article by Eugyppius, the current German government seems to have fallen into this trap.
This article is a MUST read. I presume most of you have already seen it but, if you haven’t, then read it. NOW.
Read it again. Rinse and repeat until you have gleaned every last shred of insight and understanding therein.
Again, I don’t want to single out Germany here, although the article is German-specific. It’s important because German politicians have, to use a well-worn phrase, said the quiet part out loud.
Do you really think the mindset on display is unique to German politicians? Of course not. This is how the new Priestly Class™ view their flock, as sheep to be herded.
These possessors of The One True Way™ look down upon us, the flock, and want to ‘correct’ our thinking. On all sorts of issues.
They see the rise in ‘populism’ as dangerous and are taking steps to combat it. Apparently this thing called populism is supposed to be bad. It’s just taken as a given. But I have no idea why this is so. It seems to be a euphemism for “popular ideas I don’t like”.
Popular ideas that you do like? Well, that’s just ‘democracy’ innit?
Us of the lower caste can’t be trusted to think for ourselves and so we must be herded, manipulated, and coerced, until our thinking aligns with The One True Way™ and we begin to appreciate the near-divine status of our Lords and Masters.
Oh we who are not worthy, let us share in the crumbs that droppeth from your table.
One of the more chilling things in Eugyppius’ article, as if the rest of the sub-zero stuff wasn’t enough, is the identification of ‘mockery’ of the state with the boogey-man of the “right-wing extremist”. Mockery of the state, we are told, will be met with the full force of the state1.
I told you they were coming after humour.
As the bad cat has noted many times, humour is a very effective weapon against the machinations of the state.
It’s interesting that a German with a crazy moustache (no, not that one - and he was Austrian anyway) warned us of the dangers some time ago. It’s a question I have wrestled with on an almost daily basis since the events of October 7th. Nietzsche famously warned us about the dangers of fighting monsters; do not look too long into the abyss because it will look back at you. In our fight against monsters, do we have to become monsters ourselves?
The problem today is that if we look too hard, and too insightfully, into the ‘abyss’ of the state, then it will look back at you. And it has a lot of tools at its disposal to make sure you don’t look again.
But the state abyss doesn’t just look - it’s making moves to be able to control all those things too.
It wants you, but only if you are a True Believer™
From the article, one politician makes the statement : “I would like to treat right-wing extremist networks in the same way as organised crime. Those who mock the state must have to deal with a strong state, which means consistently prosecuting and investigating every offence.”
"The One True Way"
Sounds like the name of a cult. An awful lot of people have drank the kool-aid. And our leaders are intoxicated. They are drunk on power. And their followers yell and cheer and shout anyone down who dares to disagree. Chilling stuff.
Was listening to a Legal Mindset-podcast on Youtube and the computer went "Ping!", and this is in the mailbox.
Absolutely, read Eugyppius' piece. And realise that Germany is pulling, dragging and pushing the rest of the EU with them in this; the Parliament is in favour of laws such as the ones discussed and suggested, and it has been in the works for at least ten years on the EU-level.
How do I know this? Sweden (who mimics Germany in everything retarded, only we try to +1 everything they do) prepared under the blackguard Reinfeldt's governement, as well as under the alcoholic retard Löfvéns governement (both WEF aligned/members, Reinfeldt was warded a sincure at an american bank after wrecking Sweden and Löfvén was given a UN sincure which cost about £1bn in bribes, oops, contributions, to secure) laws to this effect, laws which haven't been put to the vote in Parliament.
But that's how the game is played, here and in Germany and I'm sure in other nations: put the suggestion out there, weather the outrage, normalise the idea, then have "NGOs" demand the law be implemented for [insert reason here], and the "grudgingly implement it after a perfunctory vote.
And as I mentioned in the now 450+ comments long thread over at Eugyppius'; if you some reason wonder about swedish politics, just substitue Germany for Sweden when E writes about german politics.
