"Those on the ‘right’ lose ground because they try to approach from the frame of logic, whilst those on the ‘left’ approach things from the frame of emotion."
To quote myself from a recent El Gato Malo-thread:
"I think one fundamental difference is this:
Do you approach a conflict as something to (re)solve, so that the source of the conflict ceases to cause conflict?
Or do you approach a conflict as something to win/lose?
It can be plotted as one of them Pareto-square thingies, where upper left corner is solve-solve and the bottom right is win/lose-win/lose.
So if your opponent is of the "conflicts can be won/lost"-variety, you'll always lose if you go in with a "resolve"-frame of mind.
How to achieve mutual trust and so, well I'd need some 20 000 words for that one."
...
"One can add a Z-axis to the box grid: making winning impossible/making victory (or resolution) undesirable."
(Re)solve the conflict, or win. A more vulgar version would be a someone following a set of gentlemanly rules for a nice bout, facing someone fighting for real.
Liked. (Continuing "like" button problem.) What you speak of helps explains how the legalese word "issue" came to supplant the more practical word "problem" in the English-speaking countries. It's a switch to the more feminine manner of addressing difficulties in reality. As in the household, sometimes the only way it can be resolved is by waiting patiently for the "problem" to bite the agitated party in the butt and so make them amenable to squarely facing the problem rather than continuing to argue and strive to talk it into submission.
Here, pundits and politicos and such have replaced "problem" or "situation" (spelling and meaning is the same in Swedish as in English) with "utmaning", which means "challenge" as in "The South face of mt. Kebnekajse was a real challenge in inclement weather".
So we have no problems, just challenges to overcome.
"Like". There's still a difference in English, I think. "Issue", being a term derived from professional legal practice, suggests that a party on one side of said "issue" can often win a legal judgment by deft word play, legerdemain, outspending the opposing party, etc. -- rather than showing evidence and proving and addressing the facts of the matter. This is method the Democrats in the US, for example, have chosen to use to ineffectively address the problems facing the US. Rather than inquire why 50+% of the populace shows affinity and sympathy for the Trumpian view of things, they choose to avoid the issue entirely by use of legal warfare and censorship -- an approach that is far more trouble-making and counterproductive to the short and long term health of this particular nation than it is worth .
Given that most are doubly injected with poison that has remote control activation, I would say the wicked has arrived and quite literally set up shop in the veins of the world. It's hard to argue against the fact that the injected children of today will likely be dead early in life, barring some true miracle cure.
Lately I have gotten the sense that certain women I talk to hate Trump so much because he reminds them of an ex-boyfriend or ex-husband. It is very emotional. And it is very feminine. I’d go one further than J.D. Vance. They aren’t cat ladies. They’re the broomstick brigade and Kamala is their cackling leader. And yes, these are sexist tropes — for a reason. We all know what toxic femininity looks like and the manipulative “girl boss” who uses her sex to get what she wants and mean girls her foes is it.
Over the last few years I've come to see the US Democrats as the Spawn of Satan. Their evident corruption and malfeasance is also fully supported by their Media. Think Hillary's classified server shenanigans, and the suppression of the Hinter Biden laptop story.
And speaking of Biden the Younger, the apple does not fall far from the tree. What sort of upbringing did he receive to turn him into the foul goblin he observably is, and how does that reflect on his father.
If the Dems do manage to steal this election it will be a catastrophe for the US, and a follow-on catastrophe for the rest of the world. Can you imagine Harris engaged in any sort of negotiation with Putin, or Xi, or Kim? They'd eat her alive.
I think it's fair to say the world teeters on the result of the U.S election. I'd also like to say this teetering is totally tiring. We are especially teetered out here in Blighty. We teeter because if Kammy steals it we are totally screwed. If Trumpy wins it we can all heave a sigh of relief and watch our politicians go up in a puff of TDS smoke. And now I'm at the stage where the teeter sounds weird in my head because I said it too many times.
Is it worth debating any of it if the steal is likely? It's all just meaningless noise if the election is rigged. If Trump gets in it corporatocracy as usual, if it's Harris it will be pretty weird and likely crippling. If they can't decide it will be exciting!
I think that people would be horrified by the sheer size, power, and corruption of the Democratic Party along with its associated allies and organizations.
They really should be investigated for RICO violations, but we all know that it probably won’t happen.
Too many prominent Democrats would (and should) go to prison…..
There are a lot of questions about the assassination attempt that still remain unanswered.
One of them is a doozy. The Heritage Foundation has set up something called the “Oversight Project”, and they used ‘geo tracking’ to survey the cell phone numbers associated with the shooter ( his home, work, and visitors to both locations).
They determined that a frequent visitor to both the shooters home and work had also visited (7-8 times according to the post) a location at Gallery Place, Washington DC….. a building in which the upper floors house (or housed at that time) FBI offices.
That begs the question, who would have been in contact with the shooter and/or his family, frequently visited his home and work, and also made visits to a building housing FBI offices? And why would they have done so?
As the post from the Oversight Project asks, ‘Who’s device is this?’

Very telling, I think.

As far as I know, they are still investigating……
Chortled at the bit about Konstantin Kisin's paywall.
