I love this mixed up meme - it’s almost a parable for how mixed up everything has been over the last couple of years or so. Ideas and actions, reality and fantasy, logic and illogic, sense and nonsense, all garbled together into one big gleeful gloop. Here’s another example of the strange conflation of ideas - this time from the WEF
Who would have thought that living in a shoebox would be the key to solving all of those difficult problems of systemic racism and lack of diversity? It’s probably right, though, as long as you don’t actually own your shoebox - you’ll be happy.
Any semblance of logic and rationality, or even common sense, went speeding out of the window and was last seen heading past the Asshat Galaxy.
And they cheered. They fucking cheered.
In a semi-orgiastic display of “Stab me, baby, one more time” people developed a real passion for repeated penetration.
Apparently, some people even threw “I’ve been vaccinated” parties - although I have to say my own “I’ve had my haemorrhoids removed” party was a resounding success.
It wasn’t all bad, though. Morning TV in the UK upped its intellectual ante and treated us all to some proper science with ideas for how to hug your loved ones in a covid-safe manner
Not to be outdone, TV shows in the US promoted serious discussions about the vaccine in a rigorous and intellectual manner that was probably too challenging for most
We look back on these things and try not to have a thought beginning with WTF?
It is almost impossible to overstate the sheer lunacy we witnessed.
And they fucking cheered.
Of course it was all because of the fear of a super-duper-deadly virus. The official figures in England & Wales for 2020 show just how serious it was.
These are deaths ‘registered’ with covid - so not necessarily a death ‘from’ covid - and I’ve taken the figure of 85,700 (approx) which is a bit higher than the official count because it works out a bit better for the diagram. I’ve also taken a population size of 60 million which is about right according to the 2019 ONS population estimates.
The picture for 2021, rather strangely, looks pretty much the same. The numbers are slightly lower - but not low enough to make a significant difference to this graphic.
There’s no attempt at extreme accuracy here - because the covid death figures themselves can hardly be called ‘accurate’ in any meaningful way (when you class death, for any reason, within 28 days of a positive test as a covid death, there isn’t even a pretence of accuracy). But the overall feel, if you like, is accurate. This graphic actually represents an upper bound on the severity of covid.
This is why we had the plastic hugs and the syringe dances (and all the rest). Wild numbers were thrown about - numbers plucked from the Multiverse of Made-Up Numbers - about how many lives had been saved by the lockdowns, or the vaccines, or masks. I never did see any numbers for how many people had been saved by hand sanitizer, or plastic screens.
Everything was based on the assumption that “things would have been so much worse”. Everything.
In the real world, of course, things like lockdowns, masks, sanitizer and screens did bugger all of any significance in terms of ‘saving’ people. Even the PrickFather himself, Bill Gates, has recently acknowledged that things didn’t work out as well as they thought they would (yeah, right - only an idiot couldn’t see what would happen). But his answer appears to be more of the same shit that didn’t work. It’ll work gooderer next time but only if we do it more, and faster, and harder.
And now the world’s countries are busy ceding their authority on future ‘pandemics’ to the World Hell Organisation. I hope Sweden don’t sign up - their calm and measured and sane response to this virus has driven a Mjölnir through the “it would have been so much worse” narrative.
And this, folks, is the real battle. It’s far from over. Whilst many are acknowledging the responses were not as effective as once imagined, what we’re not seeing very much of are people acknowledging that these measures were, and are, batshit insane and should be off the table for good.
This is the real battle - we need to stop these fucking idiots cheering ever again.
There are still people who hastily yank their masks over their faces as I approach them on the walking path. And I'm not even wearing my "Unvaccinated" sweatband, "Your Science is Superstition" t-shirt, Covid survivor ribbon, or bike shorts with "Contagious" printed upon the rear. (In fact, I only possess such things in the daydream in which I look down at myself and say, "Aha, THAT is why people are moving six feet away from me and putting on protective gear.")
I have contemplated bringing a clothespin and putting it on my nose when I approach such people on my walks, or perhaps blinders, combined with shouting out in a strangled voice, "Oh, God, NO!" when I see them approaching...but I guess it still won't do anything about the idiots in command.
Everything else is a sideshow. The real coup is the imminent WHO takeover of national sovereignty that all western governments have signed us up to. Without debate and without consent.
