This was a meme before memes even knew they were memes :
In the beginning, there was a plan,
And then came the assumptions,
And the assumptions were without form,
And the plan without substance,And the darkness was upon the face of the workers,
And they spoke among themselves saying,
"It is a crock of shit and it stinks."And the workers went unto their Supervisors and said,
"It is a pile of dung, and we cannot live with the smell."And the Supervisors went unto their Managers saying,
"It is a container of excrement, and it is very strong,
Such that none may abide by it."And the Managers went unto their Directors saying,
"It is a vessel of fertilizer, and none may abide by its strength."And the Directors spoke among themselves saying to one another,
"It contains that which aids plants growth, and it is very strong."And the Directors went to the Vice Presidents saying unto them,
"It promotes growth, and it is very powerful."And the Vice Presidents went to the President, saying unto him,
"This new plan will actively promote the growth and vigor
Of the company With very powerful effects."And the President looked upon the Plan
And saw that it was good,
And the Plan became Policy. And this, my friend, is how shit happens.
I’ve even witnessed something like this myself. Back in the mid 90’s, the Chairman of the large company where I worked, all fired up with the promise of profits from some new technology, decided to visit the company’s research labs from which much of the early work and advice had emanated. He learned that what he had been told about this new technology by those “higher up the chain” was a somewhat glossy version of the truth. To say that the Chairman was not happy was something of an understatement; he went ballistic.
In my last piece I expressed my doubt that the covid “response” could be entirely explained away with what we might term an innocent explanation. Were our leaders just dumb? Was it a combination of fear and stupidity? Did they really think they were doing the right1 thing? And so on.
Maybe the “crock of shit” just got transformed into “powerful fertilizer” as it progressed up the chain of bureaucratic advice?
There’s a large part of me that really wishes there to be an innocent explanation for the disastrous and ruinous response to covid. I would desperately like this to be so. But I have a lot of difficulty making the “innocent hypothesis” fit the facts. I actually hope this is reflective of my own stupidity rather than evidence of government malfeasance.
Let’s remind ourselves of just some of the things that happened. Each of these things did not happen in any “organic” fashion, or as a result of clumsy and stupid governments flailing about for the “right thing to do”. They required some degree of power, influence, control and coordination.
The media became vehicles for government propaganda. Journalists stopped being journalists and just became mouthpieces for the official narrative.
Vaccines, rushed through under various Emergency Use legislations, were promoted as the only solution. Given what we know about the deliberately over-hyped “seriousness” of covid the vaccines were, effectively, a solution looking for a problem.
Deliberately false claims were made about the safety and efficacy of the vaccines. When it was realised that the vaccine prevented neither infection or transmission, for example, it should have been game over for the push to vaccinate everyone. But it wasn’t. They repeated the same lies and carried on with the program to vaccinate everyone. Why? This cannot be attributed to “stupidity”.
The media and journalists failed to do their due diligence, and just repeated the same lies about the vaccines - despite the growing evidence that all was not well with the “official” narrative.
The FDA in the US, a government agency, acted as agents for Pharma by trying to get the full vaccine trial data hidden for up to 75 years. I have been entirely unable to come up with anything other than massive corruption at a governmental level as an explanation of this. If there exists an “innocent” explanation for this extraordinary FDA attempt, I haven’t seen it, and nor am I able to think of one. Once again, we cannot ascribe “stupidity” as being a reasonable or correct explanation of the motivation here.
Despite the very clear lack of a positive cost-benefit analysis, and evidence to strongly suggest a negative one, the vaccines were formally approved for children. It was as if they simply ignored the evidence and just did what they had been told to do anyway.
Big tech censored everything that did not align with the official narrative. Accounts were summarily suspended and removed for straying from the officially acceptable narrative. We now know that many (most?) of these accounts gave correct and accurate information and came to the correct conclusions.
Scientific journals rejected papers for no other reason than they went against the official narrative. This rejection almost always happened before even being processed and sent out for review. In other words, it was an editorial decision to reject these papers without the benefit of review. In this way an illusion of scientific consensus was generated and maintained. Papers supportive of the official narrative, meanwhile, were fast-tracked for publication.
There was extensive suppression of accurate information about promising early treatments. Indeed there is (at least) one example of a prominent researcher being pressured to change his stance on Ivermectin from positive to negative - which he duly did. It went further than this, though. Ivermectin, for example, was smeared and described as “horse paste” when it is a remarkable drug that has radically changed the lives of millions of people (humans, not horses) worldwide and has one of the best safety profiles of any pharmaceutical product with billions and billions of doses having been safely administered.
A whole infrastructure for surveillance and control was instigated. Movements and freedoms without so-called vaccine passports were curtailed. We knew from quite early on that the vaccines did not work for infection or transmission control which renders the notion of a vaccine “passport” an absurdity, and yet the alleged “necessity” of these things has never gone away. The WHO is currently partnering with the EU to instigate a worldwide digitally-based vaccine passport program.
Doctors who questioned the official narrative were threatened with the loss of their medical licences.
A PCR test which could not distinguish between active and inactive infections was implemented. This test gave little information, if any, about the infectiousness of someone receiving a positive result. It was purely a test to determine whether someone had been exposed to the virus at some point. It was used primarily to test asymptomatic individuals - which is known to be of extremely dubious statistical validity. This test was used as the basis for declaring a “case”.
In conjunction with the lunatic testing program came the various “track and trace” programs which could find you quarantined if you’d spent some time in the vicinity of someone who received a positive test. Your freedom to move about was predicated on being able to “prove” you were healthy based on something that wasn’t any proof of anything much at all. If you didn’t want to be subject to these kinds of restrictions then you could get vaccinated and you were “good to go” anywhere. It’s hard to accurately convey the level of nonsense this all represented - so whilst the program was clearly stupid, did its implementation represent an example of stupidity or deliberate intent?
Cases and deaths attributed to covid were significantly exaggerated making covid appear to be much more deadly than it actually was. This was a deliberate decision.
In the UK the modellers were told to focus only on the most severe and doom-laden scenarios. I don’t know if this happened in other countries.
The media messaging had every appearance of being coordinated. Thus we had certain messages being promoted at certain times - everywhere. One such message was so-called “covid-deniers” being a threat to our democracy. Another was the build back better message seen very early on in the “pandemic” as if to prepare us for a big change in our whole approach to ‘health’. Indeed, in the UK, the health agency got renamed as the UK Health Security Agency. We’ve already seen the horse paste message, but we were also treated to a period in which lots of people apparently managed to croak the words “I wish I’d had the vaccine” past their intubation.
Does any of this seem like the result of a bunch of stupid people flailing about not quite knowing what to do?
I’m not feeling that vibe. I might be wrong, but it looks like a very significant degree of careful thought and planning went into all of this.
I would love to be wrong. Our response to covid (not covid itself) has been one of the biggest health disasters, and it was implemented on a global scale.
I see the hand of a guiding and deliberate intelligence here - and not the clumsy flailing about of a group of clueless and inept leaders.
Dear God, please let me be wrong - because if I’m right, then we’re not looking at a very ‘free’ future at all. This is one of my articles that I’d love to be just a crock of shit that stinketh.
By “right” here I mean in terms of being beneficial for the population. Of course they thought they were doing the “right” thing on their own terms, even if it was just lining their own pockets with Pharma money.
The scary thing for me— and why the pandemic flipped my entire worldview and changed my political party affiliation and many of my most important opinions— is how many people still would disagree with the facts you presented. As someone who was willing to change my mind, I can’t help but disdain those who resist it so thoroughly. And yet I cannot help but feel sorry for them, too: parroting The Consensus is what passes, these days, for virtue— for intellect and kindness and moral superiority. No wonder it all feels like a false religion.
A touch of humour does no harm at all. Thank you. I have published the link in my corona site covid-unmasked.net I hope you get more readers. Brian
