Hail Hydra

I’m not in a very optimistic mood today.

Despite all the evidence showing that the Goo GatePass (also known as a vaccine passport) has done bugger all to make things better, world leaders appear to be doubling down in their zeal to enforce these wretched things.

In France, Macron has suggested that the unvaccinated be classed as “non-citizens” and that all efforts be made to piss them off (or “fuck them up” as one person suggested as a legitimate translation of Macron’s words).

Trudeau, the fearless woke warrior of Canazida, suggested something similar:

Look at those words : do we tolerate these people? A certain sensitive Austrian painter with a weird taste in facial hair used those very words too.

If that doesn’t send a chill right down your back to your nether regions I guess I have only two words for you. Hail Hydra.

Uncle Joe Brandon weighed in on the act too, suggesting that you should surround your kids with vaccinated people, reiterating that it is a pandemic of the unvaccinated™.

In Auschwitztralia (not countrywide yet as I understand it) there’s a lockdown for the unvaccinated - they’re only allowed to leave their homes to get food, medicine, or to care for others. Work? Exercise? Verboten.

We already know that the cradle of tolerance, joy and compassion, Austria, the country that gifted the world the most dangerous silly moustache in history, is going to start fining people over the age of 14 for the “crime” of not getting the state-mandated injection of the Goo of Deliverance. And these are not small fines either. We’re talking thousands of Euros per month.

This narrative of extreme intolerance towards the vaccine free is being pushed everywhere it seems. Pretty soon the double-gooe’d are going to be added to the ranks of the unvaccinated, if they already haven’t been.

I’m going to say it again - this is for a virus that even in its most virulent initial form was only about twice as deadly (at most) as a severe flu. It is a virus that is milder than flu (in terms of mortality) for the younger demographic.

That’s almost irrelevant anyway - even if the virus had been much more virulent I would still be fundamentally opposed to the coercion to get a vaccine. It has to be a basic right that we have sovereignty over our own bodies. Those who would argue that it’s a “choice” which carries consequences should have been employed as trial lawyers in the Harvey Weinstein case. Refusal to sleep with your boss, under the threat of being fired, is also a “choice” which carries consequences.

I’ve also seen arguments which suggest that although the vaccine isn’t totally effective it does appear to reduce your chances of becoming seriously ill with covid - at least temporarily. So the vaccine should be mandated in order to reduce the burden on health services. Perhaps we should also be mandating calorie restriction and exercise for those with a BMI above a certain level then?

I fear this might be coming too. This covid Hydra keeps growing heads and every time the data lops one off, another two pop up in its place.

This is what happens when you surrender your basic principles. The restriction of free speech to circumscribe “hate” speech sounds wonderful on the surface when the speech being restricted is quite clearly hateful. But would you be happy with criticism of feminism being classed as “hate speech”? This is what has been proposed, in all seriousness, by some.

We’re continually told by the guardians of logic that slippery slopes do not exist - it’s a logical fallacy. Yet we appear to be sliding down more slopes than SARS-CoV-2 has spikes.

I fear for my daughters. I fear for daughters and sons the world over. What kind of legacy are we leaving for them? A lifetime of chemical slavery, beholden to a government and Pharma mandated injection of Goo in order to be able to work?

I don’t know how anybody is able to view this as right.

If we accede to this violation of our basic human rights what comes next? What new hellish slope, what new monstrous head of the Hydra, will we be facing in a year’s time?

Maybe I’m worrying about nothing - but I cannot find an “innocent” explanation for this lust to get everyone injected with the Goo. It seems to be a compulsion like the dark desires that drive serial killers and rapists. As one person on Twitter commented:

If you believe the government cares about health then you'll be bewildered about their decisions. If you believe the government are stark raving psychopaths with an insatiable lust for control, it all makes sense.

I don’t know what’s happening. I can’t explain it. It has gone way beyond a proportionate health response. The response always was disproportionate, right from the start, but at least we could forgive the early (apparent) panic as a bit of a blip brought on by fear. Not so now.
