As someone who understands the US Constitution, as well as, the actual words written down by the Founders of the USA I am not concerned in the slightest of losing democracy.
Because,
1. Democracies are necessarily suicidal.
2. The USA is not, and never was intended to be, a worthless, shitty, democracy.
3. Knowing democracy sucks, the Founders created a Representative Republic.
I always hear “threat to our democracy” as “threat to the bureaucracy”.
Just as some people tend to confuse the state of government finances with”the economy” they also seem to confuse the ruling party with democracy.
