It's all in the Batches, Bitches . . .
Or why the data is more of a dog's dinner than the dog's bollocks
I apologise for the title. I really do. But when a significant fraction of your countrymen and women seem to be running around like bitches on heat desperate to get any random prick into themselves in an effort to protect themselves against covid19, it seemed appropriate.
Didn’t like the AZ jab, Madam? Here, let’s boost you up with Pfizer. It’ll be fine. We’ve got several to choose from and you can take any mix of them, at any time. We’d be happy to help you choose the best mix for you. Come back in a few short months and we’ll probably have even more vaccine options to choose from. We’ll even find one to match those gorgeous shoes you’re wearing.
Now far be it for me to comment on how we managed to conjure up so many vaccines against a coronavirus in such a short time, when for the last 2 decades or more all such attempts have met with abject failure. I’ll just chalk it down to happy coincidence and the amazing selfless dedication and integrity of the Pharmaceutical companies in pursuing health solutions. These people should be given sainthoods, not knighthoods.
But what I do find decidedly odd is how they’re all pretty much deemed to be equivalent - or at least equivalent until the side effects can no longer be covered up. Poor old AZ got clotted on the head quite early on. Let’s suppose I have diabetes, a disturbing heart arrhythmia, and a small purple mole on my inner thigh - which one of these potions is best for me?
I have no idea. And neither does anyone else. The assumption seems to be they’re all just as “safe” and “effective” as each other - and this glorious safety and efficacy is quite independent of anyone’s particular biological or health circumstances. Just get the shot - it’s the right thing to do. Why? Because we said so.
Don’t just tell me, show me; show me the data.
What data would that be, Sir?
The data that tells me which one of these is best for me
We don’t have that, Sir. You don’t need that
Why not?
Because you can trust us
I can’t confirm the veracity of this report, but the mayor of Weimar is said to have suspended the publication of covid data from clinics and hospitals. His reasoning? Publication of the data would “distort reality”. Information it would seem, like some black hole, distorts things around it - you’re obviously better off without it. The main reason seems to be that if the full data were to be published, the “anti-vaxxers” would be able to use it to discredit the vaccines.
Yes, the data can be used to show the vaccines aren’t as good as we thought, but trust us, that’s just the reality-distorting effect of information. The proper, undistorted, reality is that the vaccines are like the elixir of life and confer immortality and super-powers upon the recipient. Trust us.
This one surreal incident aside, there is a real problem. The data we have is all over the place - it’s a dog’s dinner. If you’re not from the UK this phrase basically just means a complete mess. The other phrase, dog’s bollocks, means the opposite - it means that something is great, spot-on, just right. We need our data to look more like the dog’s bollocks than the dog’s dinner.
We knew something wasn’t right from relatively early on. In what kind of disease-ridden imagination would it actually make sense to list a death, for any reason, within 28 days of a positive PCR test as a covid death? We’re certainly not listing any death within 28 days of receiving the vaccine as a vaccine death are we? Why not?
I still haven’t quite managed to fully process this absurdity. It’s like we decided, in the middle of a (supposedly) novel, unprecedented, and deadly pandemic to make things seem a whole lot worse than they actually were by collecting hopelessly inaccurate information. Perhaps we were just taking into account the reality distorting properties of information.
It’s baffling. If things were really as dangerous, and novel and unprecedented as we were led to believe, then surely you’d want the absolute best information you could get your hands on in order to be able to properly understand what’s happening and what the best options might be?
Instead, we’ve been treated to the most glorious obfuscations, concealments, cherry-picking, and doom-saying - and, yes, outright lies in my view. Even using the government’s own colossally dodgy death data we can see that covid19, in terms of overall mortality, is about twice as bad per season as a severe flu. That’s from the grossly inflated 28-day death figures - so we know it’s not as bad as this. “Double-flu” is really the upper bound here.
Unprecedented? Novel? Super-deadly? Nope - that’s all a load of bollocks. Not the dog’s bollocks - just plain old-fashioned, general bollocks - which means nonsense. How anyone actually manages to learn English is beyond me - it’s full of this sort of weird stuff.
Not content with bollocking* up the death data - it would seem the same principles of obfuscation and crappy data collection are at the heart of the “information” regarding vaccines too. One of the things that has been much commented on is the legerdemain of classifying those who have received only one dose as “unvaccinated”.
*To bollock something up would be to mess it up - something that has been bolloxed up might well be a dog’s dinner.
It seems that for the first couple of weeks after a jab there is an immuno-suppression effect which makes you more susceptible to things. Deaths occurring in this group get listed as “unvaccinated” deaths - which has the effect of boosting the apparent vaccine effectiveness. That’s just one of the tricks that get played in order to present the vaccines in the best possible light.
We don’t need to be trying to do this. We just need complete openness, transparency and honesty. I very much want the vaccines to be safe and effective - it would be great if they were. But I have no real faith in the data. None at all.
Let’s take the recent report that all of the vaccine side effects could be traced to certain batches of the vaccine. I’m going to stick my neck out here and express my scepticism. I think this has to be bollocks (and not the good kind). It’s just too convenient isn’t it?
At a time when there is a rapidly-growing awareness of waning vaccine efficacy and dangers, we’re told that it’s not the vaccine - it’s, regrettably, just a problem with the manufacturing process. Forgive me for not believing a word of this - it’s just way, way, way too convenient.
And this, sadly, is indicative of one of the main casualties of covid - or at least our response to covid. I have lost pretty much all faith and trust in our institutions. I know I am not alone in this. You don’t need to be an Einstein to be able to see the huge mismatch between what certain “experts” say and what is actually happening. 4,000 deaths per day? Yeah, right - just crawl back into your hole Professor Gollum.
