Every day, for what seems like an eternity, I have woken up and wondered whether I am insane. I look at the bizarre and baffling things we have done over the last 20 months - masks, Perspex screens, one-way systems in stores, the mask-on-mask-off pantomime in pubs and restaurants, and so very many other things - and I wonder whether I’m the crazy one here.
It seems that just when you think things couldn’t get any weirder someone ups the ante. There’s obviously some kind of competition going on for “fuckwittery of the week” that I’m not aware of.
Today was one of those days. My attention was drawn to the following news from Suffolk. Two long-serving staff in a hospice were honoured for their service. In no way whatsoever do I want to denigrate the service of these two ladies. In my view, those who care for the frail, elderly and terminally ill are super-heroes.
The hospice got a local artist to draw the portraits of these two heroes. This is one of the results
Is it just me, or is this just weird?
Perhaps I should join in and commission my own portrait
What do you think?
I’m still thick in the “this can’t be happening” fog. But now I’m buying firearms and stocking food.
