As yesterday’s post strayed into tin foil hat territory and got all ‘conspiratorial’ I thought that today I would try to balance things up a little and try to give a rational narrative to explain all the things governments did in response to covid.
Here’s what I came up with
It was a difficult list to generate - and I struggled with it. After managing to get 5 written down, it was a devil of a job to get the next 5.
This, in a nutshell, is my problem. There are too many things which don’t make full sense when trying to explain them from a stance of science (proper science, not The Science™) or health.
It’s natural when faced with a whole set of apparently inexplicable things to attempt to construct some sort of consistent ‘narrative’ that will make things clear. It’s a kind of filling in of the gaps. But I don’t know what kind of Polyfilla I have to use here to gloss over all of the cracks - they’re too big to use the standard stuff.
I’ve written about stuff I can’t explain in previous articles. The list is very big - but here are just some highlights
previous pandemic preparedness plans were ditched
no cost/benefit analyses of NPI’s were done
ludicrous collection of death stats (the deaths within 28 days of a +ve test thing)
restriction of outdoor activities
outdoor masking
mass testing of asymptomatic people
vaccine passports
the refusal to publish complete data sets
the deliberate amplification of fear when the stats clearly show only a low to moderate threat for the vast majority
There are many, many more. Rationality, like a visitor allowed round the bed of a dying family member, was a very rare thing indeed.
I don’t know how to make any sense of this at all. I’ve seen explanations ranging from full-on inject them all with microchips as the first step towards the globalist transhuman new world order to more ‘innocent’ levels of incompetence one can only marvel at. None of them really work fully, for me at least.
The last 2 years have just been one complete and total mindfuck - and I’m sure I have not remained wholly unaffected. Just to remind ourselves of just how deep the mindfuck went, here’s just a few of the things people did. Who is crazier? The so-called conspiracy theorist or these stunning examples of human intellect?
Important safety measures were introduced because being outside was really, really dangerous
Things did relax a bit and things eased - some parks opened, but, for your safety, you needed a QR code to enter and, just to make things safer still, you needed to enter and exit in different places - but don’t drink because that’s dangerous too.
But thing weren’t so bad - we could still enjoy the odd concert. And these were very odd indeed.
Even sex was risky, and the use of glory holes was strongly recommended
But it was heart-warming to see so many of our young people practicing safe sax
And just in case you were tempted to touch your balls whilst playing golf, there was a solution for that too!
Even in the midst of the most dangerous and deadly pandemic the world had ever seen, life had to go on. We stepped up to the mark with inspiring examples of living with covid such as shoes for social distancing, paper bags on our heads, barriers for bike passengers, repurposed bee-keeping equipment, baptismal water pistols and masks for the air vents in your car. Human ingenuity knows no bounds.
Even going for a check-up, or to the vets was an absolute breeze, despite covid
And, really, I’ve no idea what all the fuss was about over weddings. I think we coped very well
Sometimes perhaps we went a bit too far and I have no idea what’s going on here
I see I’ve reached my length limit - which is probably a good thing. I’ll do a part 2, or 3, or 4 . . .
This is hilarious! Where would we be without our sense of humour?! Ridicule is one of the strongest weapons we have against the absurd narrative.
What a riot. Unbelievable, it truly is. I know for many of these people they still believe they were doing the “right thing” and “it was a novel virus”. Uugghh you have to be kidding. I really wonder how those people make it through their days with zero critical thinking skills.
I appreciate the laughs, but I have to admit my head hurts from looking at all that stupidity all wrapped up together.
