1905 was a good year

Not only did a young German patent clerk in Switzerland emerge from obscurity to utterly re-shape our understanding of the physical world, but G.K. Chesterton wrote the following in his collection of essays published under the title Heretics:

The great march of mental destruction will go on. Everything will be denied. Everything will become a creed. . .
Fires will be kindled to testify that two and two make four. Swords will be drawn to prove that leaves are green in summer. We shall be left defending, not only the incredible virtues and sanities of human life, but something more incredible still, this huge impossible universe which stares us in the face. I really should read more Chesterton. This particular quote was drawn to my attention because Italy seems to have voted for its first female prime minister. There is a video of a speech of hers from 2019 that is currently getting some attention in which she vigorously defends “traditional” values - and also uses some of this quote.

A few days ago, the president of the EU Commission, von der Lie-ing (not sure I have the spelling correct here), was not happy at the prospect and told us she had ‘tools’ at her disposal that could be used in the eventuality that someone so heinously defending “traditional” values actually won.

Von der Lie-ing, an arch-Schwabicle who was formerly on the WEF board, is passionate about both climate and digital authoritarianism. She seems to see a future in which both things are tightly controlled and interwoven with government, which must necessarily be global in nature. The idea that people will be given a “carbon allowance” that is monitored and controlled through digital ID and currencies seems like one of those conspiracies - you know, like that conspiracy during covid that people’s ability to access employment and freedoms would be contingent upon vaccination and managed through a digital app.

That never came true, did it?

Their whole command and control agenda is real and becoming more obvious every day.

I saw an article a while back, can’t remember where now, which said that Substack was coming under increasing scrutiny and pressure because of all the naughty people spreading ‘misinformation’ on it. The crack-down on Substack is inevitable.

Some dissent can be tolerated, especially when one can label it ‘extremist’ or emanating from a few internet weirdos, but if it goes beyond a certain level it becomes a danger to The Message™.

Look at how tightly, now, the various grand “narratives” are controlled. Look at how quickly the tools of censorship and the idea of ‘misinformation’ have become accepted.

Information is these days, often, judged not by its veracity but by the amount of ‘harm’ it might cause. Words are violence, they can cause ‘harm’ - a mantra much-loved and promoted by the woketards - has become weaponized on a global scale so that only the approved ‘authorities’ are holders of the “good” information. What is baffling is the number of people who have fallen for this garbage. When did this naïve trust in governments become so pervasive?

I salute the originator of this meme. It says so much. Not only does it point out the absurdity of the covid interventions, but it highlights the mindset that was so skilfully engendered by governments almost everywhere.

I am in danger. I need government to step in to save me. I want more rules to be introduced so that I am kept safe

Covid may have been deliberately released, it may have been accidental, it may have originated in some improbable chain of cross-species infection. However it originated, it represented a golden opportunity to get people used to a level of control and restriction unimaginable only a decade ago.

They have been softening us up for this for some time, in my view. Covid came along, and they stepped on the gas.

Dissent is critical. Articles countering The Message™ must be shared and talked about. We must all do this, even if it’s only a little bit, whilst we still can. I don’t care if you’re sharing the weirdest conspiracy, or the craziest theory. The point is to question. Nothing should be accepted uncritically. We need to get more people questioning things and we desperately need to fight against any stifling of our ability to do that.

We’re being manipulated, driven, towards a frightening immaturity.

We’re the government, trust us, we have your best interests at heart. Go eat your pizza and watch Netflix like a good little citizen. We’ll keep you safe and somnolent.

The more I think about it, the more I think the First Amendment might be the most important words on Government ever written. The wisdom and foresight of the founding fathers was truly incredible. I say this as a citizen of the UK. And I also find it curious that so much effort has recently been spent to discredit this remarkable group of individuals. Can’t have statues of those evil buggers, can we?

Coincidence? Possibly. But my antenna doth twitch twitchier than a twitchy thing that has been plugged into the mains.
